As an academy we have a duty of care to all our pupils and must account for all absences.
The percentage attendance that all Primary children are expected to achieve is set by the Department for Education and is currently 94%. If we do not reach this percentage overall as a school then we must account for the reasons and are judged accordingly. There is documented evidence that demonstrates that a 1% fall in attendance correlates to a 5% fall in attainment.
Please note that if your child has a total of 10 days off or more, for any reason, then they will not achieve 94%.
Occasionally a child may not want to come to school as something is upsetting or worrying them. If this happens then it is important that you let the school know as soon as possible so we can deal with any problems and offer the appropriate support, if required.
The Pupil Safeguarding and Welfare Officer - Rachel Davis - is available to support and listen to any concerns or worries you may have.
Please ensure that the school always has your current contact details.
