Litter Picks

Over the course of the year, each year group will take part in a litter pick organised by Mick Couzens from Keep Scarborough Tidy. 

Our Year 6 children collected six and a half bags of litter from around Stadium Lane and part of Falsgrave Community Centre. 

Our Year 4 children collected 10 bags of litter from around Seamer Road, Asquith Avenue, Quarry Mount and Eden Drive. 

Mick comes into school to deliver a safety talk. He then provides the children with litter pickers, high viz jackets and gloves. When they return to school, they have a question and answer session based upon how long does it take for a cigarette tab to disappear in the sea and how long does it take for a can to disappear in the sea.
