Principal's Welcome
On behalf of the students, staff, governors, and DRET (David Ross Education Trust), I am pleased to warmly welcome you to Thomas Hinderwell, where I take great pride in guiding your child through the initial steps of their educational journey.
We foster a joyful and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow, guided by our core value of ‘Family’ that influences our direction, decisions, and curriculum.
At Thomas Hinderwell, we nurture each child with care and compassion, helping them become their best selves while fostering a sense of belonging within our family. We consider every child and their support system as part of our extended family, aiming for the best outcomes for each one of them.
Our school is dedicated to empowering your child to reach their full potential. Our high-quality curriculum is designed and taught to ensure pupils gain the essential knowledge required to become successful learners fully equipped for the next stage of their education and beyond. Learning is delivered in a supportive environment with your child’s personal development at the heart. We are ambitious for our pupils and allow them to flourish so they can contribute to society, develop resilience, and acquire essential skills and values for success in a changing world. We promote the social, moral, spiritual and cultural development of our children, including a recognition and understanding of Fundamental British Values.
We take time to inspire and nurture children’s aspirations, empowering them to set ambitious goals, believe in their true potential so that they can continue to thrive as they move onto the next stages of their life. We encourage each child to take part in our extensive offer of extra-curricular activities, always using the voice of the pupils and their families to help shape the offer we provide.
Developing a strong partnership between home and school is a priority for us, and we encourage our families to work alongside us in an atmosphere of mutual respect and support to provide the best education possible. We welcome new parents to our school; We encourage anyone who wants to get involved in school activities or the community to talk to a staff member. We are very proud of our school and would love to have you join our extended family.
