Principal's Welcome

May I wish you all a very warm welcome to Thomas Hinderwell Primary Academy and thank you for taking the time to visit our website. 

I am incredibly proud to be working alongside passionate staff and children who are full of curiosity and enthusiasm. 

Thomas Hinderwell is more than a school, it is a family. We have high expectations that require us to inspire our pupils to be aspirational by aiming higher, working harder and learning more than has ever been asked of them. We want every child who attends THPA to be successful by building a real community that share core values and supports each other by using the ‘every lesson matters’ mantra to help our pupils achieve both academically and personally. 

At Thomas Hinderwell Primary Academy we accept that every child is different, so we provide a unique, and personalised, educational experience. This includes an exciting curriculum, which centres on innovative experiences throughout the year to scaffold learning upon. 

At Thomas Hinderwell, everything we do is built upon our three values of respect, tolerance and kindness. Where possible, we ensure that these three values are reflected upon and built into lessons, experiences and day-to-day life.

We continuously work alongside expert curriculum consultants in all areas to provide the highest quality of curriculum knowledge and teaching strategies for all staff members. We quite simply accept that we all (staff and pupils) have something new to learn every day so ensure that we are always seeking opportunities to further develop while striving for excellence.

 Being part of the David Ross Education Trust brings about collaboration, and amazing opportunities for both the school and staff. As part of this, you may see on site our Executive Head who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting schools to be the best that they can be.
